Character Strengths for Success Training
We have combined our experience of working directly with young people, with our unique approach to character education to provide this one-day ‘Character Strengths for Success’ training to equip professionals and teachers with coaching skills and strategies that develop character strengths in young people.
This character education training is packed with evidence-based strategies, resources, and techniques to build character strengths in young people. The strategies and tools covered in this training can be used and taught explicitly in mental health and wellbeing lessons, PSHE lessons or in support sessions with pupils. Using this approach helps develop a whole school ethos of character strengths.
What will the training cover?
During the training participants will:
- Be introduced to the positive psychology character strengths.
- Gain insight into best practice frameworks for developing strengths education.
- Learn how to utilise strengths to support the development of resilience in young people, including: simple strengths coaching skills and strategies that can be used in one-to-one work with young people, such as tutor time, mentoring sessions or pastoral support sessions. strategies and tools to use in group support sessions for young people to develop and effectively use their strengths . strengths based strategies for the classroom that can support engagement, resilience and achievement.
- Practice using specific tools and techniques that can be used to help young people develop their strengths.
- Develop plans to apply these tools in practice individually and as a school.
