Why is the Wellbeing Ambassadors
Programme Worth-it?

Worth-it have been supporting the prevention of mental health problems in young people for over a decade. Over 5000 children and young people have participated in our programmes for early prevention.

Worth-it believe (and research tells us) that coproduced, and voice led approaches to wellbeing development are the most powerful and effective way to enable the prevention of mental health problems in children and young people.

We developed Wellbeing Ambassadors as a way to make our support and approach accessible and engaging for young people and practitioners that support them. This is how this programme meets our organisational values.

Wellbeing Ambassador Testimonials

Amy Tinson, School Support Leader, Huntingdon School (York)
“I saw the impact it had on the students we were supporting they became more open and friendly with not only us but their peers around them.”

Lydia, Year 11, Brighouse High School (Calderdale)

Mackenzie, Year 11, Brighouse High School (Calderdale)

“The Worth-it Wellbeing Ambassador training has positively impacted me on many occasions. It has improved my social skills and team leading. The programme could not have been better. All I can say is thank you!”

Johnathan, Year 11, Brighouse High School (Calderdale)

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you on behalf of the Sixth Form council and from me personally. The Wellbeing Ambasadors Programme was absolutely fabulous and so informative, it has truly helped us to start the process in reducing the stigma of mental health, creating workshops for stress coping mechanisms and just getting people to talk about mental health, illness and wellbeing. This is hopefully the start in a fascinating journey to improving the support for the students and creating a safe environment for students to learn in. We have talked about it non-stop and have already started getting our proposal into motion to create this new peer support system. Thank you again.”

Kieran Smith and the Sixth Form Council, Hathaway Academy
